Ken “The HitMaker” Hollins has been writing and producing music since he left college in 1994. He is a self taught pianist that learned to play by ear at the early age of 12. While always possessing a deep love for music, The HitMaker attributes his passion for creativity as the driver behind his style. He is known for his intriguing melodies and attractive beats. His melodies will sooth you and his beats will move you. The HitMaker specializes in connecting his music with the most diverse types of artist for all musical genres. He is an independent musician, writer and producer that loves making music for all to enjoy. As a native Clevelander, The HitMaker was fortunate enough to work with the legendary Eddie Levert while he was just starting up his career in the production business. Since that time, The HitMaker has written and produced songs for the following local bands: For Ladies Only, Klockwerk, DeJa Vu, CleaReign, KidSid, Gank, Strik9, WarTribe, and Mustafa the King Pin. While producing music for various artists, The HitMaker has accomplished having multiple tracks receive airtime on two local radio stations 93.1 WZAK and Z107.9. He is able to connect with all types of artist because of his well rounded background. He was influenced by the people in his “hood” growing up which allows him to connect with the hip-hop and rap artist. He also has a background in the church which helps to shape his soulful melodies. His other musical influences would include Babyface, Frank Sinatra, Donny Hathaway, Prince, Quincy Jones and Dr. Dre. He completed music theory in 2006 at the Cleveland Music Settlement and has professional training under Layfayette Carthon, of the Layfayette Carthon Music Academy in Cleveland, Oh. The HitMaker is proficient with Reasons and Cubase software. After many years perfecting his craft, The HitMaker is looking to move beyond local markets in an effort to influence mainstream music. He is looking forward to sharing his creative talents and passion for music with national and international audiences.
